City of Saigon - Sample Itinerary
A Ballet of Motion, Constant Animation and Seeming Chaos

[ About Us | References | Tours | Services | Booking | Home ]

Hong Kong, when compared to Saigon, comes across as a quaint little village. Saigon, the largest city in Vietnam and its economic center, is an electric and vibrant city of 8-million inhabitants. Swarms--literally--of bicycles, motorbikes, pedi-cabs (called ‘cyclos’ in Vietnam) and other vehicles move in vast waves as if in a prearranged ballet of motion, constant animation and seeming chaos. Originally founded by the French in 1863, its now well worn French colonial veneer hints at times past while throbbing to rhythms and beats of the modern era. If only for a day, Saigon is a must see city for any visit to Vietnam.

Air Transportation: Daily and multiple air service from all Vietnamese cities. Daily intra Indochina and Asian air service from Bangkok, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Vientiane, Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea and Japan.

Day 1 Full day Saigon city tour: Dong Khoi Street (Saigon’s ‘Rodeo Drive’), the recently restored Saigon Opera House, the Colonial Post Office, the Notre Dame Cathedral, built by the French, the Saigon Harbor, the French Colonial Hotel d’Ville (City Hall), the historic French colonial hotels: the Rex, the Caravelle and the Majestic, Cho Lon (Chinatown), the Thien Hau (Chinese congregation) Pagoda, and a walking tour through the vast An Dong Market, Saigon’s largest market. Free evening.
