Seeing the majesty of Luang Prabang is like stepping back to a period when peace and tranquillity were in abundance. As much as Laos itself is isolated from Indochina, Luang Prabang is even more isolated than the rest of the country. Luang Prabang lies in the remote north-central part of Laos astride the Mekong River and in a valley of spectacular natural beauty; it is a place where the morning and evening sun glazes the landscape with splendor, grace and majesty. Only Sapa in Vietnam matches Luang Prabang in remoteness, natural beauty and charm, but it is only Luang Prabang which possesses a rich and ancient history imprinted by a dazzling myriad of resplendent monuments to man’s faith. There is a calmness, a certain peace, about this place where ancient architecture does not exist but lives. Luang Prabang is living testament that a Shangri La must certainly exist. In 1995 Luang Pabang was listed, along with the Taj Mahal and Angkor Wat, on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

Air Service: There is multiple daily air service to Luang Prabang from Vientiane, Laos. Limited direct air service from Bangkok to Luang Prabang is available. Air service to Luang Prabang, on a daily basis, through Vientiane, is possible but requires essentially the entire day for travel.

Day 1 : Arrive Luang Prabang in the morning. All day Luang Prabang sightseeing tour: Wat Xieng Thom (1560), Wat Mai, Wat Pha Huak, Wat Aham, Wat Thammothayalan, Wat Wisunalat (1513), Wat Pha Phutthabaat (1395), the Central Market, Talaat Dala, and a textile village. Climb Phusi Hill at sunset for a spectacular view of the Luang Prabang River Valley. Return to hotel. Free evening.

Day 2 : Morning transfer to the Mekong River docks to board your private boat for a journey up river on the Mekong River to the Pac Ou Caves. Arrive at the ancient caves; sack lunch served. Tour the caves which contain numerous ancient statues of Buddha. Return to Luang Prabang via rivercraft stopping at villages en route. Arrive Luang Prabang, meet driver and return to your hotel. Free evening to enjoy the majesty of Luang Prabang.

Day 3 : Morning check out and transfer to the Luang Prabang Airport to connect with your return flight to Vientiane. Meet guide and transfer to the International Terminal for your returning flight to Bangkok or Hanoi.
