Far in a remote corner of Vietnam where its land reaches the tri-border area of Laos, China and Vietnam, in the Troung
Son Mountain Chain, lies the former French hill resort of Sapa. Sapa nestles atop the mountains which are profuse with waterfalls, flora and fauna and endless numbers of ethnic minorities which have
inhabited these mountains for centuries. The elevations of the mountains reach 10,000 feet. Previously Sapa required an arduous 10-hour overland journey in both direction; with the inauguration of the
Orient Express inspired Victoria Express Train it requires a 10-hour day or night railroad journey across the Red River Delta in a special three-car train comprised of two-sleeper cars with either
two-or-four berth rooms and a dining bar car. The deluxe train departs four times per week in each direction and has made travel to Sapa not only accessible but an enjoyable experience. |
