Day 1 Morning/Noon departure for Vientiane from Bangkok or Hanoi International Airports. Arrive Vientiane, clear customs and immigration,
meet guide and driver and transfer to your hotel. Balance of the day
sightseeing tour of Vientiane: Pha That Luang (‘Great Stupa,’ most sacred shrine in Laos, circa 16th-century), Wat Si Saket (1818), the Central Market, Carol Cassidy’s Lao Textiles, view the
Presidential Palace, Haw Pha Kaew (‘Emerald Buddha Pagoda,’ former private temple of the Lao monarchy, circa 1565), Patuxi Monument and Dong Dok University. Free evening.
Day 2 Early morning check out and transfer to the airport to connect with your flight to Luang Prabang, a World UNESCO site. Meet guide and driver and transfer to your hotel. All day Luang Prabang
sightseeing tour: Wat Xieng Thom (1560), Wat Mai, Wat Pha Huak, Wat Aham, Wat Thammothayalan, Wat Wisunalat (1513), Wat Pha Phutthabaat (1395), the Central Market, Talaat Dala, and a textile village.
Climb Phusi Hill at sunset for a spectacular view of the Luang Prabang River Valley. Return to hotel. Free evening.
Day 3 Morning transfer to the Mekong River docks to board your private boat for a journey up river on the Mekong River to the Pac Ou Caves. Arrive at the ancient caves; sack lunch served. Tour the
caves which contain numerous
ancient statues of Buddha. Return to Luang Prabang via rivercraft stopping at villages en route. Arrive Luang Prabang, meet driver and return to your hotel. Free evening.
Day 4 Morning check out and transfer to the Luang Prabang Airport to connect with your return flight to Vientiane. Meet guide and transfer to the International Terminal for your returning flight to
Bangkok or Hanoi.
